　" Don't bring me down "收錄於英國搖滾樂團 Electric Light Orchestra 1979 年的《 Discovery 》專輯，為其中的第九首也是最後一首曲目。這首歌在英國排行榜最高排名第三，在全美百大單曲榜最高排名第四，在加拿大（排名第一）和澳洲（排名第六）也取得了不錯的成績。

　傑夫林恩用鋼琴譜寫了旋律，然後創作了歌詞，內容講述一個女孩自認為比男友更優秀的故事。這首歌罕見的沒有使用弦樂。林恩表示：

　「這是我創作的第一首沒有弦樂的歌。剛開始的時候，和弦樂組一起工作很令人興奮，但是做了六張專輯之後，我厭倦了。」

　在 ELO 的精選輯《 Flashback 》內頁說明中，傑夫林恩解釋說他唱的其實是一個自造詞" Groos "，有人認為它的發音類似於德語的" Gruß "，意為「問候」。

　林恩解釋說，他最初並不知道這個音節的意思，只是把它臨時用來填補歌詞中的空白，但在了解了它的德語含義後，他決定保留它。歌曲發行後，很多人都誤把這個詞聽成了" Bruce "，以至於林恩在現場演出中也開始故意唱成" Bruce "。
